The Green Hornet (12A)
*****
Now we all remember the 1974 Green Hornet film, though maybe not for the right reasons. Now a new version of the Green Hornet has been in development for several years.
We’ve had high hopes for the director Michael Gondry, co-writer and starring as Reid Seth Rogen and the new comer Jay Chou starring as Kato.
To be honest the film had a lot of potential. Though has been let down in the writing, it feels more like a teen comedy, similar to that of Super bad or Pineapple express.
In the film Reid (Rogen) is portrayed as a buffoon, this gets very old, very quick. As a result Chou steals the stage from Seth, kicking ass in a manner worthy of Bruce Lee.

In short the Green Hornet simply doesn’t sting.
